Founded in 1976, Rainbow Montessori began on a small school site in Campbell. Operations expanded over the years to include six more small school sites located across the South Bay Area. These seven campuses were eventually consolidated into the current site, located on the former campus of Sunnyvale High School.

Dr. Montessori believed in the innate curiosity and self-directed learning potential of children. The Montessori philosophy provides the foundation for children’s natural inner discipline and control. A feeling of caring and respect for others (as well as respect for one’s self) is fostered in the Montessori classroom.
